Digital Learning Day with our Technology Teacher of the Year

Beth Moody, our 2018 SVRTC Technology Teacher award recipient, teaches fourth grade at Tussing Elementary School. This award recognizes a classroom teacher who advances learning through the integration of technology into the curriculum.

Beth uses a variety of resources in her classroom so that students have the opportunity to use technology to extend their learning.

Beth recently had her class use Kahoot to review weather concepts. Beth used Kahoot to create fun learning game in minutes, the games are called "Kahoots." Games can be a series of multiple choice questions or the newest Kahoot game, Jumble. Kahoot brings fun into learning, for any subject, for all ages. Create, play and share learning games for free!

Recently, Beth had her students create posters using Google Slides to demonstrate what they learned about Native American tribes in Virginia. Students were able to use Chromebooks to research more information about local tribes to further their learning. Students also use d Google Slides to find and edit pictures while writing about what they have learned.

Beth's students have enjoyed using digital tools while learning in her classroom. Here's what they have to say--

Digital Learning Day was created in 2012 by the Alliance for Excellent Education in order to highlight great teaching while using technology in order to improve student outcomes.

We hope that you will be inspired to try something new in your classroom!
